Position:
Facilitator and Participants
Job Description:

The Growing Allies program is hosting a weekend retreat for students, staff and faculty interested in learning about how to build a safe and inclusive community at Michigan and beyond. “Allies” are individuals who commit themselves to ending injustice in the world.

The Growing Allies 2011 Winter Retreat will be over Friday April 8th - Sunday April 10th (Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday all day) and Trotter Multicultural Center.
The retreat will not be an overnight commitment, program will end each day by evening. Participation is free of charge and meals are provided to participants each day.
The retreat is open to students (undergraduate and graduate), staff, and faculty of all identities.

The retreat is a safe space for students, staff and faculty to challenge and educate themselves and each other around issues such as justice, discrimination, social change, privilege, and social inequality. The format includes experiential activities, large and small group discussion. No prior experience with the topics is required, and we encourage people to participate if they are just starting to think about their role as an ally.
